Amazing Results Every Time
1. Exfoliate well before you tan to ensure you have removed dead skin cells (If you love tanning, make sure you exfoliate regularly to avoid build up from several layers of tan)
2. If you’re waxing or shaving before tanning, make sure you do it more than 24 hours prior to tanning.
3. The most common cause of a patchy tan is dry skin, so it’s crucial to lightly moisturise problem areas (wrists and hands, elbows, knees, ankles and feet)
4.Try to avoid washing your hands for as long as possible in the development time – a minimum of 2 hours. Try a hand sanitizer or wipes instead as washing with water which will remove the tan.
5.After your tan has been applied, wear loose, dark clothing. Anything that’s pressing on the skin may make the results patchy.
1.Avoid showering for a minimum of 7 hours; this allows the tan to take full effect.
2.Moisturise well after washing off the excess tan & continue to moisturise daily to get the most out of your tan.
Over the following days the top layer of skin naturally makes way to newer skin. The top layer of skin is the part that's tanned, to extend the effects of your spray tan, you must moisturise regularly so the tan wears off gradually & evenly.
How long will my tan last?
A Suntana spray tan can last up to 10 days if maintained properly
What is DHA?
Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is the main active ingredient in all sunless tanning preparations. It has no known toxicity and has been approved for cosmetic use worldwide. It may be used alone or combined with other tanning components such as erythrulose. DHA is considered the most effective sun-free tanning additive. History lesson – DHA (naturally derived from sugar cane) used to be given to children who suffered from a rare condition where they couldn’t naturally produce glucose in their own bodies. The children were spoon fed the sugar derivative which was sometimes spilled onto the skin. Healthcare workers noticed that the skin turned brown after a few hours. Thus the tanning effects of DHA were discovered!!
Will it damage my clothes?
You should be aware that DHA can stain silk, nylon and leather clothing. Any clothes put on after the application should also be dark, cotton based and loosely fitted so they will not rub on your new tan. Any colour that rubs off can usually be washed out in a normal wash cycle. Try to avoid putting on closed shoes and socks as they will not only cause your feet to sweat but they will also grind down your tan as you walk.
